Usages
Wild distribution: Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia. Cultivated in Java, Kalimantan and Malaysia in regions with short arid periods. Fruits and seeds are eaten, seeds are roasted like peanuts. Fruits are of an unpleasant smell, but sweet and with savoury taste. The oil of the seeds is used to prepare hair-oil, the latex for birdlime, the bast to make mats or tapa-clothes.
