Usages
Temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, especially Europe and Asia. Cultivated for pharmaceutical purposes in Czech and Slovak Republics. Also collected from the wild in Russia and Canada as either tradional herbal medicine or as medicinal raw material. Leaves are used in tanning 'Russian leather' and for tea in Russia. Several cultivars exist in the USA and Canada, and plants with good ornamental features and with high concentration of medicinal substances have been selected in Poland.
