Observations
*Fruit ovoid, acuminate, circular in cross section, 40-50 mm × 20-28 mm, fulvously tomentose especially near base and apex.
''C. apertum'' occurs scattered but locally common in lowland forest on flat or undulating land and hill sides, up to 500 m altitude. The density of the wood is 530-710 kg/m<sup>3</sup>at 15% moisture content.
