Alangium lamarckii

Alangium lamarckii Thw. Cornaceae.

A small tree of the tropics of the Old World. On the coast of Malabar, the fruit is an article of food. It affords an edible fruit[1]. The fruit in India is mucilaginous, sweet, somewhat astringent but is eaten[2].
