Angiopteris evecta

Angiopteris evecta Hoffm. Filices. A fern of India, the Asiastic and Polynesian Islands. The caudex, as also the thick part of the stipes, is of a mealy and mucilaginous nature and is eaten by the natives in times of scarcity. [1]
