Alangium lamarckii

Alangium lamarckii Thw. Cornaceae.

A small tree of the tropics of the Old World. On the coast of Malabar, the fruit is an article of food. It affords an edible fruit. The fruit in India is mucilaginous, sweet, somewhat astringent but is eaten.
