*A medium-sized to large tree up to 45 m tall with comparatively short bole sometimes exceeding 115 cm in diameter and short buttresses; leaves .*Leaves narrowly ovate to oblong-lanceolate, 5.5-11 cm × 2.5-4 cm, with 10-12 pairs of close secondary veins prominent beneath; petals .*Petals narrow, pink with a cream margin, stamens 20-30, the appendages with 1(-2) bristle(s); fruit .*Fruit calyx lobes unequal, larger three up to 5 cm × 1.2 cm.  ''S. scrobiculata'' occurs on ridges and hillsides on well-drained and not too sandy soils up to 700 m altitude. The density of the wood is 860-1070 kg/m<sup>3</sup>at 15% moisture content.
