*Woody climber, 2-4 m long. *Leaves up to 30 cm × 12 cm. *Flowers red to dark brown. *Fruit composed of 5-50 distinct carpels (fruitlets); fruitlet berry-like, globose to cylindrical, up to 2.5 cm long. In lowlands in hedges, thickets and teak forests.
