Distribution

Peninsular Malaysia.

Uses

The acid fruits are edible.

Observations

  • Shrub or small tree, up to 9 m tall, branches up to 8 cm diameter.
  • Leaves unifoliolate.
  • Fruit an ellipsoid to ovoid capsule, 1-1.5 cm × 0.5-1 cm, red.

In primary and secondary forest, not very common.
