Distribution
Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Java and Borneo (Kalimantan, Sarawak).
Uses
Young shoots are eaten as salad with rice.
Observations
- Evergreen shrub or small tree, up to 10 m tall, containing white latex.
- Sapling leaves cordate, 3-5-lobed, 20-35 cm × 10-23 cm; adult leaves elliptical, 5-15 cm × 2.5-7.5 cm, toothed; leaves characteristically white and finely woolly on underside.
- Fruit a globular fig, 1-1.5 cm in diameter, mostly on twigs just below the leaves, dark red.
In open forest, along streams and forest edges, up to 2100 m altitude.
