Distribution

Wild and cultivated in Vietnam and southern China.

Uses

The acid fruits are edible.

Observations

  • Large tree with strong buttresses.
  • Leaves with 7-15 pairs of leaflets.
  • Flowers white in rather short panicles.
  • Fruit a drupe, yellowish, 5-celled.

In dense deciduous forests, in regions with short dry season at low altitudes.
