Uses
The ripe fruits are eaten raw or roasted; the taste reminds one of hard-fleshed bananas. The wood is beautiful but hard and difficult to work.
Observations
- Dioecious tree, 15-25 m tall.
- Leaves lanceolate to elliptical, 10-25 cm × 6-10 cm.
- Flowers 4-5-merous.
- Fruit a depressed globose berry, the size of an orange, yellow, flesh slimy-mealy.
- Seeds 4-10.
