Distribution

Endemic to Borneo.

Uses

The shoot is eaten as rattan cabbage ("savit") by the Penan in Sarawak. The cane is used for tying.

Observations

A robust, clustering and climbing rattan. Stem 25 mm in diameter without leafsheaths, 50 mm in diameter with sheaths. Commonly found in coastal areas of Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Kalimantan.
