Distribution
Endemic to Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore.
Uses
The cane is used for making baskets and for tying. The leaflets are used by local people as cigarette paper.
Observations
A robust, clustering and climbing rattan to 15 m tall. Stem diameter without leafsheaths to 25 mm, with sheaths to 30 mm in diameter. Very common in lowland to upper hill dipterocarp forest to 1000 m altitude, especially in swampy valleys, slopes and ridge tops.
