The cane is used for tying and binding.
Observations
A clustering rattan, climbing to 20 m tall, stem diameter without leafsheaths to 10 mm, with sheaths to 25 mm in diameter. Leafsheaths, petioles and rachis covered with white tomentum and armed with short black coneshaped thorns; leaflets diamondshaped. A rare species, found on steep slopes in hill forest up to 800 m altitude.
