Distribution

Endemic to Peninsular Malaysia and confined to the states of Perak, Pahang, Selangor, Terengganu, Melaka and Johor.

Uses

The young leaves are occasionally used as cigarette paper by the aborigines of Peninsular Malaysia. The fruits are of medicinal value.

Observations

A clustering, thicketforming and low climbing rattan. Stem diameter 1520 mm, without leafsheaths, with sheaths to 35 mm in diameter. Leaf subcirrate to 3 m long. Confined to ridgetops in hill forest.
