Uses

The timber is used locally.

Observations

A medium-sized to large tree, up to 50 m tall; leaves obovate, 9-22 cm × 4-9 cm, puberulous below, petiole up to 4 cm long; pedicels up to 3 cm long; mature fruit unknown. B. polymera grows in lowland rain forest. It is somewhat doubtful whether this species really belongs to Burckella as it has been described as having a 7-8-celled ovary. The density of the wood is about 670 kg/m³at 12% moisture content.
