Synonyms

  • Aporosa maingayi Hook.f.; Aporusa Blume = orthographic variant of Aporosa Blume.

Vernacular names

  • Malaysia: beras-beras, kangkong udang, nipis kulit betina (Peninsular), tampong pacat
  • Thailand: krim khao (peninsular).

Distribution

Burma, Thailand, Malaysia (Peninsular and possibly Sarawak) and Singapore.

Uses

Leaves are eaten as a vegetable. The wood is a timber of low quality.

Observations

Small tree, up to 8 m tall, in evergreen forest up to 400 m altitude. Leaves chartaceous, smooth, markedly caudate-acuminate.
