Usages
Cultivated in India and Cambodia as a medicinal plant. Also grown as salad or leaf vegetable and cover crop in tropical Asia. Since prehistoric times used as a remedy in India; traditionally applied in SE Asia and southern Africa, especially against skin diseases and as a diuretic. Important for leprosy treatment and as a promising antitumour drug. Wild distribution: Pantropic.
