|texte=Bois lourd, dur, très durable, prend un beau poli ; charronnage, dents de moulin, instruments aratoires, aux Indes (FAWCETT & RENDLE). Tanin extrait des copeaux du bois de cœur par l’eau à ébullition : catechu ou cutch ; pour le tannage et la teinture (aussi avec une espèce voisine de l’Inde ''Acacia catechu'' Willd.). Médicinal : astringent contre la diarrhée chronique. Arbre ornemental.
