Classification

Triticum urartu Tumanian ex Gandilyan (1972)

Triticum urartu was previously considered as a form of Triticum monococcum, but it doesn't cross with it, and is now considered as a distinct species, known only from the wild. It is apparently the donor of the A genome of all the cultivated wheats.
