== Observations ==
*A large tree of up to 50 m tall, bole tall, straight, cylindrical, up to 95 cm in diameter, buttresses low, rounded, bark surface orange-brown, flaky; buds slender, glabrous; leaves .*Leaves narrowly elliptical to obovate, 5.5-16 cm × 2.5-7.5 cm, base narrowly obtuse, acumen to 8 mm long, secondary veins 8-10 pairs, straight, glabrous, petiole 1.5-3 cm long, stipules linear, caducous, inside pubescent; stamens .*Stamens 15; fruit .*Fruit calyx tube fusiform, glabrous, with 5 wings, each up to 7 mm wide, 2 larger fruit calyx lobes up to 11 cm × 2.5 cm, 3 shorter ones up to 8 mm × 8 mm. ''D. mundus'' occurs locally frequent in small scattered groups on ridges above 500 m altitude. The density of the wood is 785-940 kg/m<sup>3</sup>at 15% moisture content.
