New Guinea.
Uses
The timber is reputed to be used.
Observations
- A medium-sized to large tree up to 45 m tall.
- Leaves more or less clustered at tip of twigs, elliptical to obovate, with transverse tertiary venation distinct beneath, hairy beneath.
- Flowers in many-flowered clusters below the leaves, borne on 8-10 mm long pedicels, pink or red.
- Fruit unknown.
P. hochreutineri has been found in forest up to 1600 m altitude.
