Peninsular Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Sumatra.
Uses
In Peninsular Malaysia a decoction of the plant is used internally to treat fever and after childbirth.
Observations
A shrub or small tree up to 5 m tall; leaves oblong-lanceolate, 8-20 cm × 3.5-4.5 cm, with scattered minute rusty scales and sparsely scattered glandular dots, secondary veins 10-14 pairs; inflorescence an umbellate raceme, terminal on branchlets; corolla c. 4 mm long, pinkish; fruit 7-8 mm in diameter, sparsely striate and gland-dotted. A. ridleyi occurs in lowland evergreen forest up to 1200 m altitude; it is uncommon.
