Uses
The cane is used for basketmaking and tying.
Observations
Stem without leafsheaths to 8 mm in diameter, with sheaths to 12 mm in diameter. Leaves cirrate; leafsheaths armed with scattered slender, subulate spines; leaflets grouped, very spiny. Fruit spherical, to 11 mm in diameter, with short beak. Endemic to the Philippines in forest at low altitude.
