Vernacular names

Distribution

Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore.

Uses

In Peninsular Malaysia boiled roots are applied as a plaster to treat rheumatism.

Observations

A shrub or small tree; leaves elliptical, 10-22.5 cm × 4-6 cm, glabrous, secondary veins 20-25 pairs; inflorescence a condensed, almost capitate cyme; corolla pinkish; fruit c. 6 mm in diameter. A. crassa is uncommon in lowland forest.
