Distribution
Endemic in Indonesia.
Uses
The fruits are edible, sweetish. On Sumatra the stem is used like rope.
Observations
Woody climber, 2-4 m long. Leaves up to 30 cm × 12 cm. Flowers red to dark brown. Fruit composed of 5-50 distinct carpels (fruitlets); fruitlet berry-like, globose to cylindrical, up to 2.5 cm long. In lowlands in hedges, thickets and teak forests.
