Uses
The sarcotesta around the seed is edible.
Observations
Tree, up to 30 m tall with trunk diameter up to 90 cm. Leaves (1-)3-7-jugate. Fruit a slightly flattened ellipsoid capsule, 3.5-5 cm × 2.5 cm × 2 cm, glabrous, coarsely tuberculate, warts up to 4 mm tall and arranged in longitudinal rows, waxy, light green. In rain forest and open jungle, up to 650 m altitude.
