Pantropical.
Uses
The very salty plants can be eaten after repeated boiling in fresh water.
Observations
- Creeping, succulent, perennial herb, up to about 80 cm long.
- Stems often reddish and rooting at the nodes.
- Leaves narrow and fleshy, linear-lanceolate, 1-7 cm × 0.6-1.5 cm.
- Flowers with numerous pinkish filaments.
On seashores and in tidal mud.
