Uses

Fruits are acid but edible, usually cooked.

Observations

Tree, 12-18 m tall. Leaves broadly elliptic, 22-40 cm × 10-20 cm. Flowers unisexual, yellowish but petals reddish at base. Fruit a globose berry, 5-8 cm diameter, like a green apple, turning brown-yellow. Common in lowland forest.
