Mangifera duperreana Pierre
- Family: Anacardiaceae
Synonyms
- Phanrangia poilanei Tard.
Vernacular names
- Indo-China: queo, svai prey, xoai
- Thailand: mamuang kau.
Distribution
Indo-China and Thailand, but very rare.
Uses
The fruits are small and inferior, but contain a white edible flesh with a turpentine taste. The wood is whitish, used as timber.
Observations
- Tree, 30-40 m tall.
- Leaves oblong to obovate, 13-30 cm long.
- Stamens 10-12, 5-6 of which are fertile.
- Fruit an oblongoid drupe, small.
On rocks in lowland forests, flowering December-March, fruiting April-May.
