Vernacular names

  • Philippines: bignai-baker (Ilokano), barotangol (Negrito), lingo-lingo (Pangasinan).

Distribution

Endemic to the Philippines.

Uses

The fruits are edible.

Observations

  • Shrub or tree with trifoliolate leaves; leaflets obovately-oblong.
  • Inflorescences in spikes with white flowers.
  • Fruit a subglobose berry.

In secondary and open primary forests at low altitudes. Identity not yet clear.
