== Observations ==
*A very large tree up to 76 m tall with tall bole up to 190 cm in diameter, and buttresses up to 2 m high, bark closely square-section fissured, with narrow flat ridges; leaves .*Leaves ovate, 7-10 cm × 3-4 cm, with 9-12 pairs of secondary veins scabrid tomentose beneath, petiole 10-15 mm long; stamens .*Stamens 15, stylopodium narrowly ovoid; larger .*Larger fruit calyx lobes up to 6 cm × 1.3 cm.  ''S. acuminatissima'' occurs on clayey soils, on hills and ridges usually near the coast and up to 500(-1400) m altitude. The density of the wood is 350-700 kg/m<sup>3</sup>at 15% moisture content.
