*A medium-sized , dioecious, evergreen tree up to 15(-30 ) m tall, bole up to 40 cm in diameter, with bark mottled grey and brown, exuding a white latex when wounded.*Leaves distichous, stipules not amplexicaul; leaves blade ovate to elliptical, 11-26 cm × 5-14 cm, base broadly rounded to broadly cuneate, margin entire, apex long acuminate, glabrous, with 8-13 pairs of secondary veins.*Inflorescence capitate, stipules not amplexicaulaxillary, solitary or in pairs; male numerous flowers densely packed together, embedded in the receptacle, the perianth enclosing a single stamen or ovary, mixed with abundant stalked interfloral bracts.*Male head obovoid to clavate, 101.5-20 mm in diameter, 4.5 cm × 1-2 cm on a 1.5-3 mm long peduncle; styles .*Styles in female head simple; syncarp .*Fruit a subglobose or shallowly lobedsyncarp, up to 3 cm acrossin diameter, on a 0.5-1 cm long peduncle, brown, nearly smooth, shortly short pubescent, with numerous persistent bracts.
