*Tree, up to 10 m tall. *Leaves ovate-oblong, 10-15 cm × 3-6 cm. *Fruit an oblongoid berry, about 12 mm long, crowned by a deep-cupped calyx.  In swampy forests. It is possible that this species belongs to the genus ''Syzygium'' Gaertn.
