Originating from Venezuela, now cultivated there and occasionally elsewhere in the tropics.
Uses
The fruits are edible.
Observations
- Climbing herb.
- Flowers 2.5 cm in diameter.
- Fruit a subglobose berry, 2.5 cm long, purple.
Species for higher altitudes in the tropics, up to 1500 m.
