Sources and commentaries

In some languages, the generic name for Crocus spp. appears in dictionaries, and it may be that scholar use distinguishes crocus as a plant and ssffron as a spice. Such names have not been included here. Even in Greek, κρόκος appears to be a katharevoussa name. MC
